First Day of School

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Buena Vista Elementary Preschool!  We are looking forward to a fun and exciting year at Buena Vista.

Prior to your child joining us, you must complete the registration process with the secretary in the main office at Buena Vista Elementary School.  You will need to bring your child’s immunization records, birth certificate and proof of residency (water or SDGE bill) when you come to register your child for school.

Once the registration process is completed and he or she is 3 years of age, your child may start school.  On the first day of school your child should bring a backpack (big enough to fit papers in) a snack, and a change of clothes (that can be left at school) all with your child’s name on them.  If needed, please also bring pull-ups and wipes.

Your child’s classroom teacher will be sending home weekly “news pages” describing the theme for the week, “homework” and any important updates and reminders.  Please feel free to keep the teacher informed of how things are going at home.  The teachers love to hear about all exciting adventures and developments that are happening at home.  This is also a good way to let the teachers know if something is bothering your child such as your child had a difficult night and did not sleep or if your child is upset because a parent is out of town for a few days.

We know how much your child will enjoy coming to school and never want to miss a day, however, in the event that your child becomes sick, please let the school know by either calling the attendance hotline at (760) 331-5470 or emailing your child’s classroom teacher.

Once again this should be a great year and we are looking forward to teaching your child.

Thank you,

The BV Preschool Staff
